I am pregnant! Can I still do the Fast Metabolism Diet?
A lot of pregnant mommies always
raised that question. They are often afraid they couldn't do the diet anymore
because they're pregnant. But don't
stress yourself! Especially now that you're carrying a little baby in your tummy. First off, congratulations! You are now having
a little angel in your family! But I would like to tell you that your body
needs to focus in nurturing and
sustaining your baby. The recommended
phase for pregnant mommies to undergo is to hang in Phase 3, but still you need to follow
the rules like no wheat, caffeine, sugar, etc.
Phase 3 has an omega
3 fatty acids that your baby needs for its brain development. It also has
mirco-nutrients in a wide range of protein, fruits and veggies in Phase 3.
Since protein is important for the development of the baby, it is recommended to
take up your protein intake. Take 60
gramds per day during the first trimester, 80 grams during the second and 100
grams during the final trimester.
Note: A 4-ounce
serving of chicken breast has about 35 grams of protein.
I am nursing!
For nursing mom, it's okay to loosely follow every phase but
your must load up on fruits to keep
the milk production up and nutrient quality high. The recommended servings for
fruit every phase is 5 servings. On
phase 2, switch to lower glycemic fruits
like Asian pear and berries. But if there's a droip of milk production, switch
to higher glycemic fruits like melon, apples and tropical fruits.
Have a happy and healthy pregnancy while you're on the fast metabolism
journey! Don't stress yourself up! Instead be happy and excited for the arrival
of your little angel in your family.
